Meet the Duggars at Big Sandy 2014

Alert Cadets at the 2010 conference
Every spring, the Duggars pile into their 15-bunk bus and head down to Big Sandy, Texas, for the annual ATI (Advanced Training Institute) homeschool conference. This year, the organization is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the Duggars want you to be there. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar attended their first ATI event (the Basic Seminar) thirty years ago, and they have been using the principles they learned to train and disciple their children ever since.

  1. What if some of the older kids meet their future someone there! Like josh and Anna met there and it would be sweet to keep that tradition going!!

    1. You and your daughter are always welcome at any ATI or IBLP conference. There are children's classes and sessions available for her, and adult sessions for you. These conferences will continually bless you!

  4. I have watch 19 kids & counting on my Netflex account. Ienjoyed everyone of the shows. I think Jim Bob & Michelle have done an Awesome job raising their children. I am sure the older girls have helped raise the younger ones but that is all right. Jim Bob & Michelle have instilled alot of good values in their children. Jim Bob & Michelle keep up the good work.

  6. Last year was our first year attending and it was a WONDERFUL time. The families there are loving and supportive and the children are so respectful and fun. I never had to worry about worldly influences on my children and we were encouraged by some truly beautiful people who love the Lord. I cannot even put into words how great the seminars are!! There are separate ones for men and women and then ones for the whole family, and our family really grew spiritually from them. We wish we could attend this year again, but my baby is due April 21! :-) Hopefully next year though! We also really enjoyed meeting the Duggars at the cookout that they have every year for the whole camp. The ENTIRE week is a blessing and I would encourage everyone to go, whether your an ATI family or not. We tried ATI, but it just didn't work for us. We are still figuring out what will work the best for us....next year will be a mixture of SOS (what we've been doing) and Abeka. We'll see how that goes! God Bless!

  8. @Anonymous

    Hi Anonymous 7,

General registration is $105 for ATI families and $185 for non-ATI families. In addition to that, the ALERT Cadet program is $70, and all other children's programs are $50.
