From Atlantic to...Arkansas

Josh and Anna and their kids drove home for the holidays, so the Duggar family is together for Christmas. Here are a few snapshots from today:

The Duggars' dining room table is big enough for Christmas lunch and board games

Can you imagine wrapping Christmas presents for 19 kids?

And here's a short video:

  2. I had to wrap gifts for 15 people and I'm only 13. This was the first on many years I had to wrap gifts for everybody. I couldn't imagine wrapping gifts for 20 people.

    1. I don't think so, from watching the show and seeing several different photos posted on here it doesn't seem that they do put a tree up, someone can correct me if I am wrong though!

  5. Wow. Now that is a lot of presents. I come from a fairly large family and although wrapping the gifts are fun, this defiantly beats mine.
    Have a happy holiday.

  6. Hi Hope you can tell the Duggars Merry Christmas for me. I have been watching some of the old episodes. I love the old shows. Please let the Duggars know they don't have to plan any activities for the show. I think their daily interactions are interesting enough.I have also sent a comment to Discovery as well. Hope the pruducers take note. Thanks

  7. Michelle looks great. Looks like she may have lost more weight. Surprised that some of the women who have had tons of children dont seem to continue to carry the weight. Guess pregancy is not the only factor in weight gain.

  15. Is the clock a gentle reminder that, yes, Duggars, the world operates on real time. Not Duggar time?

On Friday, December 23, 2011 there was a post that outlined the Duggar family Christmas traditions. In that post it mentioned that the family gathers around the Christmas tree (which had been decorated by Jessa and Jinger that year) Though I don't ever recall seeing any pictures of a tree or noticing it on any episodes.

  18. @ all those asking if the Duggars do christmas trees, there is a youtube video available entitled 'christmas with the Duggars' uploaded by a user named patty pryor. it was cut from 14 children and pregnant again. it clearly shows they do christmas trees. that is all.

  19. Who is paying for all those gifts? The viewers on TLC or the parents.

    1. It's really no ones buisness, the Duggars give more to charity than most,AND, to some we dont know about. They are a very humble family who dont like to boast about all there good deeds. The reason for them doing the show is NOT for money . I feel that I have learned so much useful information from them and am a better person for it. Like the Duggars say if just one person gets something positive out the show, then it's worth it. Let's all b nice and supportive of the Duggars because theres not many shows that are suitable for familes to watch together. Amen, and Godspeed!

It looks like a lot, but you have to remember that after Jim Bob and Michelle, there is cousin Amy and her mom, Grandma Duggar, Josh and Anna's family, the kids do give gifts to one another, and they have friends that stay with the family over Christmas. It is not stretching it to say there are gifts for nearly 30 people there. A gift doesn't have to cost a large amount of money and it's not like the kids are greedy and expect the latest most expensive gifts of the season, so why ask such a silly question. If there are about three gifts there per person at say $20 per gift (which used to be a limit the kids set for gifts amongst themselves, and I think they used to not gift to each sibling) that is only $1800 for gifts for 30 people or $60/person, I bet there are families out there that spend that kind of money on only a handful of people.

The Duggars do a great deal of volunteer work for the community all through out the year. There is nothing wrong with them having a family day together on Christmas the day set aside by most of the USA for spending time with family.

Who cares? We intrude on their lives in the form of their TV show they deserve to get paid for that intrusion. I have no problem for them getting that compensation. I hope my watching the commercials during their show helped one of the kids get something they wanted this year. :)

  23. Merry Christmas Duggar Family. We have a small family and make the kids wait as we take turns opening presents. I can imagine that opening presents would take all day if you did this. lol. I am only sad that Michelle and Jim Bob don't get to see each expression as they open. I am sure the kids are happy just being able to get right to it.

I noticed that the kids playing board games. Our family loves board games and would love to suggest some for your family. We suggest you start with Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, King of Tokyo, Small World, and Dominion. These are fun games that our family wanted yours to know about and enjoy. Happy New year and may God bless you, everyone.

  24. the duggers COOSE TO HAVE US INTRUDE ON THERE LIFE! WHY WOULD THEY BE EVERYWHERE IF THE DIDNT!

  25. What? A poster said, "We intrude on their lives...." Excuse me, poster, nobody has intruded into the Duggar's lives. They willingly and gladly get paid for TV cameras to film their lives. Read up what intrusion means. Not the case here.
