Pictures from Labor Day

Didn't make it to the Turning Hearts picnic at the Bontrager's farm last Monday? The event was a huge success, with more than 1,300 people in attendance. Here are a few pictures, courtesy of Hannah Elise, Josiah Duggar, and David (a friend of the Duggars). Click on each photo to view a larger version.

More pictures are available on the Bontragers' blog.

  1. Looks like they had a great time with lots of people present. I wish i was there to meet them. They lead such busy lives. The Bontrager family home looks very beautiful with lots of space.

  2. As a former event planner; I'd love to know the logistics that went into planning this regular get together! Do the families chip in monetarily for food and beverages/trash pick-up/port-a-potties/misc. rentals? Or is each family responsible for bringing their own food or a dish for the party? Who sets up and, more importantly, who cleans up? What a gathering! Looks like everyone was enjoying themselves!

the Bontragers have several "workdays" before the big day.. friends come as much as one week early to help... everyone brings their own food for lunch (the picnic) but for supper..the Bontragers and friends cook all the food... there's a suggested donation for the meal, but it's not..required. This way everyone can come. Most of the people who come early to set up, stay after to clean up too. It's a wonderful time. :)
