Blog Updates

Ellie has been hard at work renovating the blog.

The biggest addition is the updated header, which can be seen at the top of this page. Ellie also designed a new profile picture for Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest; revived the background on Twitter; and added a fresh Facebook timeline collage. Yesterday evening, we snapped an updated photo of ourselves, which can be found on the Contact Us page.

Take a look at the changes, and let us know what you think!

  1. i LOVE the new heading at the top of the page. i think the old one was a little too busy, but this one is just perfect. the picture of you girls is beautiful too. i have yet to see the other sites but i will when i get the chance. i have one question. do you follow the same dress rules as the duggars? i did notice the high neck, which is great, but i was wondering if you also wear long skirts or dresses. thank you both for all your hard work.

  4. I was wondering if anyone knows the word to a couple songs that I've heard the Duggars and Bates sing, or if they know of a website or something that might have them along with sheet music for playing them on the piano. They are "Sweeter Gets The Journey", and "It's Been a Long Journey But I've Been Blessed."

    Thanks!

    Hi Sarah,

"I'm Blessed" by Ricky Atkinson and Compassion:

Each day that I live, He gives more than I need
And I could never describe His goodness to me
If you ask how I make day after day
There is only one thing I can say

It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed

All that I need I find at His feet
When I'm hungry, He feeds me with manna so sweet
When my soul is weary, He sends peace and rest
And all I can say is I'm blessed

Now I've had my share of sunshine and rain
Days filled with laughter and nights filled with pain
But with every mile as I travel this way
The journey gets sweeter each day

It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed

    I'M BLESSED
So much more than I ever deserve
    I'M BLESSED
He's been faithfully keeping His word
    I'M BLESSED
I've been cleansed by the hand of the Lord
    I'm blessed, I'm blessed, I'm blessed

It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed

    "Sweeter Gets the Journey"

Sweeter gets the journey every day
    Serving Jesus really pays
I get so happy in this Heavenly way
Cause Sweeter Gets the journey every day

    1. I don't know about you my friend
I don't know where your journey will end
But as form me and all of mine
We're gonna make that Heavenly climb

    CHORUS

    2. Trouble and sorry used to be my lot
I'd sit and worry bout the things I've not
But now I count all the blessings I've got
And I don't worry bout the things I've not

    CHORUS

    3. Some folks seek and never find
    Happiness and peace of mind
But I have peace within my heart
Since with the Saviour I've made my start

    CHORUS

    Chorus:

Up to (UP TO) that Heavenly Shore
    We'll live (WE'LL LIVE) forevermore
    Never have a worry
    Never have a care
Everything will just be happiness there
Sweeter gets the journey every day
    Serving Jesus really pays
I get so happy in this Heavenly way
Cause Sweeter Gets the journey every day

    Hi Anonymous,

We appreciate your words. Modesty is very important to us, and we love to wear skirts-especially in the summer-but in the winter, we wear pants for warmth. (Lily is especially cold-blooded.)

  13. Hi Lily and Ellie. I was wondering if you have ever met the duggars personally? How do you get such accurate information?

  16. I love watching the Duggars. I am a supportive fan of their program and their life style. I do have an issue with something Michelle said in a call in interview. She was encouraging parents to guide their children towards humility when a mom called to ask her if her girls have ever considered donating their hair to "Locks for Love". Michell's answer was that her daughter's hair grew too slowly--and so her girl's could not part with their hair. But would'nt this be a great and true exercise in humility? It seemed like Michelle was suggesting that her daughter's hair styling was more important than practicing humility. The girls use of make up and hair products has always been a point of contention for me with the Duggar girls because I believe it is just as defrauding as immodest clothing. I was fortunate enough to be raised by a mom from an Amish family--and compared with my Amish relatives the Duggar's girls look very immodest.

does anyone have thoughts about this? I would deeply appreciate an honest discussion,
    ellenore

  18. Dear carol ten,
Thanks for sharing your views, my view on Michelle not wanting to share her hair does not bother me I have a certain level of Fame in my own country so I understand when you are 'famous' everybody wants something from you and through I feel it's really important to do things for others and charities you still need to keep some things for yourself and sadly there are cases that even though you admire them you are unable to support them on the basis that you can't do or help everyone. I hope this helps. As for the girls makeup I think this is just normal self expression and it pleases me to see the parents not only allow this but join in on the update like wearing black eyeliner or slightly shorter skirts this shows me they parents are respectful to there kids and really are close nit family.

  19. Hi Lilly & Ellie,

your blog is wonderful and I love seeing all the updates! The Duggar family is such an encouragement!

I wanted to comment about your "header". The header looks wonderful , yet I think you should also place Josh and Anna together as a couple, like you have JimBob and Michelle. Also the children of Josh and Anna should be by them, they are in a line up as if Anna and the grandchildren are also JimBob and Michelle's children. You have done a beautiful job with your blog. Please do not take this the wrong way at all:)! Just making Josh's family separate, not like he's forever under the "shadow" of his parents, but that he has left his parents and is his own "Duggar" family.
