  1. I would like to know: Do all the children like to be on the show and have cameras following them around? Maybe some of them are a little shy or some of the older ones might not feel comfortable that the whole world knows what they are doing and how they are doing.

  2. My aunt just called today and said that her mom met the Duggars! I SO envy her! They were in Grand Rapids I guess. I don't know when though, recently.... :)

  5. How are you older girls doing lately and what are their goals? Whats is like having a house full of Teenagers lately? How do you talk to the younger kids about Jubilee's death? What do you think about diet, junk food and soda pop?

  6. Do your children get letters in the mail? If so, do you let them read them?

  11. Hi, I'd like to know:
    1. When you talk to all of the kids together, explaining something ( for example about future plans or educating about something), what do you do so that it will be understandable to the little ones without boring or omitting information from the older ones. At what level do you speak?
    2. Is there any possible negative effect on your family which might make you stop participating in the show? (I mean, if that thing happens, It will make you decide to stop exposing your life to the public eye).
Thank you for the opportunity to ask!

  12. I would like it know: How do you stay true to your faith and values when the world is so hard and saying opposite? I am a wife to a Marine in California, and it's especially hard to show and be the way we know rather than fitting in with everyone else who lives worldly. P.S.-I hope you come out this way in the future because I am a HUGE fan :)

  13. 1.What do you think of your fans mainly the fans that are your kids age or around you kids age?

  15. I have the same questions as Nicole...

How does the family feel about people who do not share their views, such as with religion? What is the family's view on homosexuality?

Also, in regards to these things, are the children encouraged to form their own opinions or are they expected to adopt their parents' views about everything?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm curious if they get tired of answering the same questions all the time?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Lily and Ellie, will you be able to give us a recap with answers to questions from this radio show? That would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!! :-) Thanks so much! You are great people!

And my question is this: Are any of the teen Duggars involved in a relationship and/or courtship?

  18. I am a homeschooling mom and am wondering how does Michelle keep her little ones "occupied" while teaching the older ones? I have a 2 year old and 7 year old and the 2 year old can be a real handful. While I try to include him, he can be a distraction and doesn't want to play by himself while I teach the 7 year old. Also, are there ever times when you lose your temper with the children?
    Thanks,
    Missy

  20. Annonymous feb 29 @ 5:03pm : ROFL!!! I could probably answer most of these questions myself! But, no harm in asking I guess, they would be used to it by now. Most of these answers are either in their books, or on their website and some of them I got thankfully when my husband and i got to speak to the Duggars. Michelle is very sweet. My only question is: When are they coming to visit me in Australia? lol.

2.) I wonder why the girls have long hair just because Jim-Bob likes long hair? What if they wanted to cut their hair.
3.) Do the older kids earn more than 3 cents (like it says on the TLC website) for their chores...they deserve it!

Michelle...when one of your children needs correcting for their behavior, I see you bend down and speak to them quietly in their ear...what do you say? Love, love, love the Duggars!

Are the kids allowed to read books like Harry Potter?

Are married people allowed to dance with each other in privacy?

  42. As an adult child of a very "nasty" divorce, I often worry I lack the necessary skills to parent my children with the same confidence someone from an intact family would. I guess my question is: If you've never had the loving parental model as a child yourself, can you successfully raise your family in a completely different way than you were raised? Thank you. HUGE fan, thank you for your encouragement and bravery to stand up for the Lord and His desire for us as families and as a nation!

  44. How exciting! I love hearing Michelle's insights on raising children and managing a home.

I would like to know how Michelle and Jim Bob approach the conversation of the birds and the bees with their children. How old are the children when they begin providing information and how do they discuss it? We are a conservative Christian family and our oldest is not yet of the age to have this conversation yet, but he is growing up in the blink of an eye and I would love to know how the Duggars approach this subject with their children.

whats your typical schedule during the week?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Annonymous feb 29 @ 9:14 I too watched Tea with Micheel Duggar and the way I took her response is Yes, they do spank. But first they get alone with the child and discuss the issue. If there is confession and repentance then all is well. But if a spanking is needed, then it is delivered. But thats my take on it. The reason they don't just come out with it is because they know there are a lot of people who disagree with the method. And the world's Idea of spanking is Totally out of whack. But as I said, thats just my take on it.

@ Willow, As far as I can work out no, they would not encourage their children to read or watch harry potter. And to be honest, i wouldnt either. As Michelle has often aid Garbage in, garbage out. And as for dancing. They don't PERIOD.

For those of you who wonder where they get their swim suits from, They are from Wholesomewear swimsuits, you will find the link on www.duggarfamily.com

For those of you who asked about college, they go thru CollegePlus! the link for that is also on their website.

No Michelle and Jimbob did not court. By their own admission in a 17 kids and counting episode where Josh starts courting Anna they admit they didnt court but they wish they had.

Annon Feb 29 @ 9:34 pm. Take heart, while some have a difficult and troubled upbringing, it IS possible (with the Lord's help and a circle of good friends) to have a good, Stable marriage and future family life. All the best to you!

My apologies for going ahead and answering some of these questions, but like i said earlier, having read, both books, seen every episode, talked to them on the phone multiple times and heard countless interveiws and read countless articles about them, And knowing some of the principles taught thru IBLP (which the Duggars are participants in) I'm fairly confident about those answers.

  52. Dear Anonymous @ February 29, 2012 9:34 PM
My heart broke for you reading your comment and I just had to reply, I too am a adult child from a horrible divorce and I must tell you that it by no means will effect your ability to be a good parent. Think of all the pain you have gone through as training to be the very best parent. If you worry you have no experience of your own childhood to aid your childrens turn to the bible and learn through it to what stable and unconditional love is. Lastly just remember Jesus was not from a traditional home and look how much love he spread.

We have changed ideas of dating (no dating), clothing (modest), college, and so forth. 65. Hi There,
You have some great questions here to choose from, but I hope you don't repeat the one we've heard a million times, like the ones about jurisdictions and College Plus etc. There has been a lot on that!

My question: can we look forward to any more upcoming Duggar products, like books or music? I have the first two books and they are amongst my most prized possessions!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I was wondering if i could ever become a duggar for the day? My other question is when is the next time you guys are going to be in Ohio, because it would be really special to me if i met you guys on my birthday.

  80. DO THE GIRLS EVER CUT THIER HAIR
    IS ANNA EXPECTING

    ReplyDelete
  81. I have also wondered the question of Mmolesy and would truly appreciate if that question was asked of them. I know at one time something came up with one of the crew and he did not believe in creation. It may have been a couple of them that the question came up to. I think it might have been when they went to the museum. I know at that time the crew had been with them for a long time and I wondered it then. That would be a true testament of their doing the show from a mission mindset. We are talking people who have been with them constantly. I know they say they are a great family and all, but is it really hitting home or not????
ALOT of redundancy here. PLEASE do not ask the questions that they have answered many-many times before. The last few talk shows I have seen have been just that!! Boring!!! Already heard it and more than once at that.
    Thanks Much Ladies :-)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Oh I have also wondered the question of modest clothing and making themselves all up. It makes me think the reason behind wearing modest clothing is not biblical based, but totally for sexual reasons, not because the Bible says so, although the bible doesn't say women must wear dresses/skirts only dress modestly and distinctly from being a man, but it also talks about vanity and one person in this family spends more time in front of a mirror and doodling themselves up then my entire family of 10 put together.
Why do they feel the importance of dressing modestly, yet have no qualms with what seems to be vanity??
    Thanks Again :-)

May I reccomend a book to you that i think Michelle woud also reccomend? its called: Making brothers and sisters best friends by :Sarah, Stephen and Grace Mally. I have read it myself and it's very good.
To any of you who asked if the Duggars listen to contempory "christian" music, I am pretty confident the answer would be no, but, i could be wrong. The duggars are involved in a group called IBLP and they talk about the "dangers" of contempory christian music. here's a link to a brochure about it from IBLP's website:

    http://store.iblp.org/products/OBCLE/

Then there is this one: http://store.iblp.org/products/WOTM/

    And this
    one: http://store.iblp.org/products/WLCCM/

    And finally this one: http://store.iblp.org/products/MMH/

@ mimosastar: Yes, they believe in tithing, It is strongly reccomended in Jim Sammons financial freedom Seminar. As for where they tithe, im not 100% sure but i think i heard some of it goes to charity. could be wrong.

Annonymous march 1 @9:22 am: May i refer you to the episode Duggars and Dentists? she explains in that episode how they do Doctors/Dentist appointments.

Annonymous March 1 @ 9:26: The Duggars have a personal conviction about not eating Pork. It was a part of the old testament law in the bible that there were certain "clean" and "unclean" meats that could be eaten. While they do not believe they are bound by these laws, they believe they were put in place for a reason and so thats why they do not eat pork. Because it was listed among the "unclean" meats.

Annonymous March 1 @ 9:28: Michelle and Jimbob try to get away each friday night for a "date" but occasionally Jimbob will call up on the spur of the moment and invite her out for lunch or something like that.

Annonymous March 2 @8:33 am: The Duggars are not against tv, they just don't like whats on it. A lot of the things on tv are not God Honouring and so they don't want it to be a regular part of their lives. It also tends to have a habit of dramatically reducing interaction between family memebers. The dangers of tv are mentioned in the financial freedom seminar they reccomend.

  113. Why don't kids go school and why they home school ?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Frontus: Please read this article :

    http://www.generationcedar.com/main/2012/03/do-large-families-burden-older-children.html

The older girls may help Michelle out with raising the little ones. But she and Jimbob are the ultimate authority when it comes to discipline. They just take care of the other kids daily needs like food, clothes, hair, teeth, bathing etc.And they are taught to do so with a joyful spirit. They do it out of love for their sisters etc not just because they "hafta". You will also hear the Duggar girls tell you they love being about to help out in that way.

If you honestly truly believe God decides when to give a new life, how can you say out of one side of the mouth you are against birth control, then say out of the other side of the mouth you believe in helping God along? Both are man made chemicals.

  120. Most of the questions asked here haved been answered publicly in some form already. Thank you Mmolesy for answering some of these questions so they won't be asked again. I would like to know if some of the money earned from the show is put into accounts for each of the children? Also, it seems that the family is not living a frugal lifestyle anymore. Josh posts photos on Instagram and he eats out constantly. Have their frugal ways changed, and if so, what are the changes?

  121. My 2 questions for Michelle Duggar are similar to others.

Why are you dressing different from earlier episodes? Now you wear things such as Abercrombie & Fitch and others that promote immodest dress. When I see this, it does not take me to your face. Even ball caps bring us away from our countenance. I think what you wear will be promoted in this fallen world of ours even if it seems innocent.

How can you be for fertilility treaments when God does the opening and closeing of the womb and therefore how can we help God out in this manner or any manner?

    Thank you Lily and Ellie!

  138. I know that all of your children's name start with the letter "J". I was wondering why you don't have a Jacob. My son is named Jacob so I am kinda partial to that name. Also I admire you and your family so much. Your family just seems to happy and very well balanced. I think people should keep their negative thought to themselves. I think they are just jealous that you make everything work so well and just go with the flow. I love your show and try to never miss it and still watch the reruns when they are on.

  139. How is "Harry Potter" garbage? It is one of the most Christian-themed books out there and it teaches kids to be brave, to stand up for what is right, and that individuals are responsible for their good and bad decisions. They urge those who are evil to repent. This is not even close to garbage.
