  1. I would love to know if either of them had difficulties with their families accepting their decision to leave the number and timing of children up to God. My husband and I have been convicted to this as well and we have chosen to obey but our families are fighting us left and right.

  2. My question is for Michelle: You seem to always have such a quiet and gentle voice for your children. Do ever raise your voice to your children, and if not, how do keep from doing it? LOL! Is it something you disciplined yourself to do (keep your voice soft) or is it just your nature? Do you have any advice on how to "tame the voice beast"? :)

  3. I think you mean July 7, your post says June, I'm sure it was a typo. I am so curious as to Michelle's medical condition after carrying all those babies. I know God is protecting her and allowing her to carry all of them but it is amazing to me that her uterus can withstand the constant stretching each time. Have doctors told her that she has had enough children and that medically and physically she should not have any more. I know she would let God decide, I'm not questioning that, I just wonder if any doctors have told her otherwise.

  4. Thanks for catching that, Kathy! We will change it right away.

    Blessings,

  5. Did you mean to say "July" 7th? That is really cool though!! I can't wait! I will be listening for sure!!

  6. Hello, I wanted to ask if Michelle teaches her children about disabilities and the fact that, for reasons unknown, there are children born who look different than everyone else. I myself, now age 50 was born with missing arms/legs and yet, god blessed me with 3 healthy children :-)

  8. Wonderful; I can't wait to hear! I would love to know what kinds of books the Duggar children like to read. :-) I'm a very avid reader and so I always like to hear what others are reading.

  10. My question is for Anna: When giving birth to your son was the labor more harder to deal with than your labor with Mackenzie?

My question for Michelle: Do you have an brothers or sisters?

    Thanks! :)

  11. I am interested in how and when Michelle and Jim Bob approach the subject of puberty and sex education with their daughters. I know they touched briefly on it in their new book, but I would be interested in learning a little more about their process, so that I may use it with my two daughters.

  12. My question for Michelle is to ask if she could explain how to get instant obedience when she claps her hands and tells a child to be "instantly (clap) obedient."

I normally count down for compliance (5,4,3,2,1) but I have been trying to teach instant obedience and I am finding that I am (ironically) not getting as quick a response.

  14. I have a question for Michelle and Anna: What do they think about schedules for babies? Do they follow a nursing schedule/sleep schedule?

    Thanks! ~Mama of 3...so far

  15. We have 8 children at home who are all adopted. Their ages are 6-15, 3 boys and 5 girls. Sometimes they have a hard time getting along and learning to work together. Do you have any advice that might help me quide them to form more healthy, loving relationships with their siblings?

  16. Hello, First I must say I love your blog. And second, since i'm from Spain, I want to ask if they plan or just think to make a big trip and come to the Old Continent (Europe). I also want to say that the Duggar family are a great encouragement. Thank you so much if you make Michelle and Anna that question.

  17. For Michelle;
You are such a blessing and encouragement to all women; therefore, do you have any advice for women that have put the amount of children they will have into the hands of God, but their husbands do not agree? Also, what is the most important step in your homeschooling routine?

    For Anna;
It has been amazing to watch God transition your life: with two babies now and the carlots, how do you manage to make time for the Lord? What is your favorite time of the day?

  18. I would like to ask Michelle if any of her older children are courting? Is there any possibility of another Duggar wedding?

  19. Michelle looks great, she has lost some weight. Would love to know if Josh and Anna have plans to move to a bigger house, since their's is only a 2 bedroom house? Wonder if they have problems with fans at their house, like Jim Bob and Michelle had to put a fence and gate up. Congrats on the new baby Michael James.

  20. I would like to ask Anna how it is to now be married and a mother of two while being well known for being on TV? I would love to know the bond between Michelle and Anna. I love how Anna is always helping with her husbands family!

  21. I guess my question would be similar to a couple of others, and I probably already know the answer. I have a conviction about leaving the number of children up to God, but my husband is not so sure. Also, his side of the family has said several times, that they don't want us to tell them we are pregnant again (we have 2, 17 months apart). I think what is holding my husband back is money. Back when their children were little and just starting their business, how could you afford your children?

    ReplyDelete
  22. The Duggar's have been such an inspiration to me and our family! We really appreciate their example.

I just watched the seminar session on anger resolution under Jim Bob's section on their new website. All I can say is WOW, all Mamas should watch it if you feel like you need to tame your spirit, lower your voice etc. I took a lot away from it!

I have two questions for Michelle: I heard you speak many times of needing to win the hearts of your children. Can you give some examples of how to do that?

How do you handle disputes between siblings? What if they are physical towards one another?

My question for Anna or Michelle:
Being a mom, let alone a young mother can be stressful at times. What is something you do to help relieve that stress?

  23. So glad your power is back on. Three days... how did you all cope with no power that long? Great to hear there will be another radio interview..

  24. Hi!
I am from Austria and Michelle and Anna you are so inspiring for me!
I am a Mom of soon 7 and Anna I felt for you when I saw the labour.
I wonder how it was for you giving birth with the cameras and so many people in the room?
For me I need alot of concentration to give birth and love to be alone with my husband.
Anyway you are both a great inspiring for me.
    thank you sooo much!

  25. A question is for Anna, I have noticed that she uses fitted cloth nappies. I am considering them for my next baby and wondered what her reason was for using them and if she thinks they are any good?
A question for Michelle, in Australia we are supplied with a recycling wheelie bin and it goes out on rubbish day, I've noticed on the shows that all there cans etc go into the rubbish bin, have they considered recycling cans, glass, plastic etc and is this something they can do in their area? Fiona (mum of 6 Perth, Australia)

  26. Hi Angel Renee!

Believe it or not, our three-day power outage went by pretty quickly. The weather was perfect-not too hot and not too cold. And June 21st was the longest day of the year, so we hardly even needed flashlights or candles! We were also thankful to have a generator to plug in our sump pump and freezer.

Thanks for being a faithful follower of the blog!

  27. Hi! I am living in Europe and a big fan of the Duggars! I'm a newlywed and me and my husband (boy, that still sounds strange to say!) and considering leaving the number of children we have up to God. While praying on this, I came across a passage that stated the purpose of intercourse within marriage is the creation of children. Does this mean that we should refrain from sharing our marriage bed unless we intend to have a child? Would this form of abstinence within marriage be a form of contraception? Is that the right way to follow God's word? What about the rhythm method? How does Michelle Duggar feel about these dilemmas? Also, has Jim Bob been at all the births, and do the Duggars think the father's presence is positive or negative for a godly birth? Since my family lives across the ocean and does not follow the Lord's teachings in the same why I do, I cannot ask these sorts of things to my mother or older sister. All the Duggars, especially Michelle, are such an inspiration to follow the righteous path! Thank you! And Thank you to Ellie and Lily for this wonderful Blog!

  28. We saw the episode where Josh and Anna were moving from the old car sales location; Is Integrity Autopark running now?

  29. I'm always encouraged to hear the Duggar's views on finances, and how they continue to be frugal even though they have a TV show and are "famous" :) I have wondered that as they continue with the TV show, and many other ventures like books, appearances, etc. if Jim Bob and Michelle still manage their own finances, or if they have someone else do it for them or help them out.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Like Denise, I would also like to know what Josh and Anna are considering for their future when it comes to their house since their current one is pretty small, but their family will probably keep on growing!

    ReplyDelete
  31. (I once remember an episode where Jim Bob mentioned his hope would be for his children and their families to build their homes on the "Duggar property" so they could all be close-I wonder if Josh and Anna are saving up to do that?)

  32. I would like to ask Michelle what her actual procedure is for disciplining/correcting for little ones. What process works for her? Does she recommend any resources in helping parents learn how to effectively discipline?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would like to ask Michelle if any of her older children ever get an attitude or fight with their siblings.
    Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would like to know what kind of relationship Michelle and Anna have? Is Anna calling Michelle mom now? How is little Micheal James fitting into their family? Was it hard for Anna to marry into such a "famous" family?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hi Michelle and Anna!! I am a big fan of your show!! and I was wondering if you will be touring different states again for the book tour cause i really wanna meet you all and I live in Michigan.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'd love to hear how you approach puberty with your boys. What age? Details???? Our 12 year old is there. Help!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'd love to know how they deal with all the people who criticize them for their choices. Online rumors go crazy with speculation about some of Anna's family members. Just let them know I pray for all their family members, and for wisdom in responding to people's questions. Oh yeah, and I would LOVE to see a show where they meet some other high-profile big families, such as the MacCaugheys with their septuplets. Just dreaming I guess. Well, you got some good questions already; that should take up your whole show. Looking forward to it

  38. Michelle: Do you think it is too late to teach children (10 years and 2 years old) the same character traits that your family follows, if I did not begin already?

    ReplyDelete
  39. It is hard for my husband and I to find a church where we feel at home. There just doesn't seem to be any that fit with our beliefs in our area. My convictions seem to be much like your families. What should we do? Also, we just recently, last 3 years, brought religion into our home, but we struggle with staying strong in our faith and beliefs due to not finding a church home. Is it too late for us to instill strong faith and beliefs in our children? Can we catch up? They are ages 10, 9, 6 and 4. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. God bless.

  40. I was wondering if Josie is still lactose intolerant? or has she grown out of this? If she still is how do they fit this one special dietary need around the rest of the family?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Michelle - Thank you for the latest book. The discipline section was a real blessing to our small family.
    - What is the DVD (with animals) that you were showing the littlest babies?
    - Do you have other curriculum materials you use with the pre-preschool set?
    - How are the older kids doing in their businesses, and planning next steps? (We've heard some are exploring things that interest them, and maybe taking some college courses?)
    - Lems

  42. Firstly, you and your family are amazing, I watch as much as I can, I myself am not religious, I do not believe in god, BUT I think that the values you instil in your children are beyond fantastic, what great kids you have, What would be your advice for a modern family, in a modern world, in the UK, in helping us go back to basics, can you take from a child thats already had?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thinking back to the recent Good Morning America segment about the Duggars mentioned at the end that Michelle would love to have more children, however if that didn't happen she would even consider adopting. I actually haven't heard the Duggars talk about that before, so I was wondering if Michelle had a comment about whether or not they would be considering that as time goes on?

    ReplyDelete
  44. To Michelle:
Do your kids ever complain about chores?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh, another question. Their cameraman Jon Boyle announced in Duggars Do Dinner, that he and his wife were expecting. That was before Josh and Anna announced they were expecting Michael, so, can we have an update on their little one please?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I was just going to add my two cents... for what it is worth... Michelle will probably say something along the same lines...

I used to do that 1-2-3 obey me thing... the thing is ... it was more like 1-2-3-4-5-6-7+ obey me.. I would end up being angry by the end... I realized I was actually most of the problem... I was waiting too long to correct them... if they know it is instant correction.. meaning Mom tells you once and you obey (being sure that once was with them making eye contact and understanding what was said...)then you won't ever get to the point of being angry or raising your voice...

You have to be prepared to realize that you might have to correct over and over on many things before they will begin to really get it... but expecting 1st time obedience keeps you from losing your cool and keeps you consistent... if you aren't consistent then why should they obey.. maybe it's obey this time... maybe not.. they aren't sure... if I started to raise my temper... then sometimes I had to give myself a little time out.. it was kind of funny to see my then little ones asking what are you doing Mommy? I'm taking a time out... okay Mommy...LOL...

It will be interesting to hear Michelle's take.. she has the patience of a saint...

    Angel in PA

-With my youngest child reaching adulthood this year... mine are now grown and soundly saved... Mothering is one of the hardest jobs you will ever do... but also one which will bring you a million blessings... God bless all you Mommies out there..

  47. Thanks so much for your ministry :)

My question is for Michelle is: How do you find quite time to be with the lord with all you have to do?

My question for Anna. Was it a little overwhelming at first becoming part of the Duggar clan?

Question for Anna- How is Mackynzie handling being a big sister?

Questions for Michelle- How is Josie doing? Which buddy team is Josie on? Can you elaborate more on the buddy system (for example, how do you choose who is on what team, and how did you start the system)?

  49. Hello. Even though I don't necessarily agree with homeschooling, you children seen to be very well adjusted and intelligent. I'm curious to know why we never hear of your college age children attending college. Is it just not mentioned or are your children not attending college?

    ReplyDelete
  54. This question is for both Anna and Michelle. Have you ever had a fight with your husbands?

    ReplyDelete
  55. I Would also like to know about anna's use of cloth diapers. What kind does she use? For michelle, I Would also like to know how she handles her kids fighting and disagreeing?

    ReplyDelete
  56. For both Michelle and Anna: Sometimes it's so hard to figure out "What's for Dinner?" when you're so busy and what the kids will all eat-I know that you menu plan, but what is one no-fail easy, go-to dinner that you make often (besides Tater-Tot Casserole!)?

    ReplyDelete
  57. First - congratulations to Anna and Josh on Michael James's birth. My question is for Michelle: Have any of the children mentioned or thought about being a pastor/reverend when they grow up?

  59. My question for the Duggars is:

How do you handle toilet training the children?

    ReplyDelete
  60. I was wondering if Michelle had any advice on raising boys..I have 3 daughters and now have a 18 month old son. He is a far different personality and also very high energy which none of my girls were, when it come to dicipline could she give pointers to a "new to boy world mom like me" on how to handle the high energy and and constant struggle I'm having with him not listening like my girls did (for his age)??

    ReplyDelete
  61. I would like to know how both Michelle and Anna encourage Jim Bob and Josh to be the best husbands they can be. Have you ever found it difficult to submit to their being head of the family when they've been struggling to take on that role?

  67. I know that the family motto is to "buy used, save the difference", but are there still financial difficulties? How do you handle those? Do you have any hints on how to save money on household costs?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sleeping arrangements for the littlest girls? What are the sleeping arrangements for Jennifer, Jordyn, and Josie? Do Jordyn and Jennifer sleep through the night, and if not, do the older girls get up to help? How do you transition the littlest one from your room to the "Big Girls" room?

    ReplyDelete
  69. These comments/questions is for Anna. You seem to be such a wonderful woman with poise and grace, what lessons/material did your parents and you use to instill these traits/values (books, etc). I loved your hair when it was shorter (it wasn't too short or too long, it was just the right length) where did you get it done? You wear such fashionable and yet modest clothes, do you find all of them at thrift stores, or have you found certain department stores/ labels that you prefer.

This question is for Michelle, what books did you read to come up with your families discipline system? What books/materials did you read/watch/attend to cultivate a meek and quite spirit? With a husband that dreams so big sometimes how do you not go crazy and help keep things in focus.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hi Michelle and Anna! :) My question is for Anna...How has Mackynzie adjusted to having a new baby brother in the house?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Dear Michelle and Anna, I just wanted to say that your families bring my husband and myself a lot of inspiration and respect for the values and how you raise your children. I live in England and watch most of the more 'recent' shows via the internet as we are always at least one or two seasons behind! My husband and I have been married for a year, we don't have any children yet but we hope we'll have some soon! I just wondered whether you were ever likely to come to England/ Britain? I know we would unlikely be able to meet you but sharing your values and also home-schooling in this country would be fantastic. Home schooling is a fairly new thing in Britain but my husband and I hope that we are able to home educate our children. If this question gets posed to you, thank you for answering. Also should you wish any information/ history etc about England for home-schooling I'll happily share all I can! I live very close to Arundel Castle, in Sussex! Best wishes Kaye

  72. Question: Is there any possiblity you would put your TV shows on DVD so those who do not watch TV, and do not have HISPEED interent (can't watch videos online) could watch the shows. I know of people who would really benefit from the wisdom your family imparts. I would love to see all the episodes put on a collection of DVD's.. maybe in chronological order?

The episodes are on DVD, by season. They are sold on the TLC website, as well as on Amazon.

  74. My question is for Michelle. Does the age you start homeschooling your kids follow the "birthday thing"?(for example, students in California have to be 5 before December 2 in order to start kindergarten in the fall. Iwas just wondering because I love your family and am curious about how you do things.

  75. I was wondering How Josie is doing and wondered if she's had anymore febrile seizures? They are horribly frighting(my son has had four in an eight month period)and have been hoping they have had better luck keeping germs away:)

  76. Thank you Lilly and Elie for this time to be able to ask some questions for Michelle and Anna. Thanks to the Duggars as well for this great interview time! If this question is covered in this book, I am sorry for the your time.
My question is similar to another one. I was wondering if you (Michelle) have ever had a stuggle with your convictions and being submissive to Jim Bob at the same time because he was not ready spirital or believe the same way as you? Or did you come to this together at the same time? (Modest dress, leaving number of children to God, TV watching, What advice would you give a wife if she knows her husband is not on the same spirtual level as her own convictions but desires to be submissive? Thanks so much!!!
